CAMPAIGN ORACLE ALPHA TERMS & CONDITIONS

Version 1.1 (Alpha review draft)

Status: Alpha review draft — not yet published.

Effective Date: [TO BE CONFIRMED BEFORE PUBLICATION]

1. INTRODUCTION

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Campaign Oracle (the "Platform"), an online platform for tabletop roleplaying campaign management and worldbuilding.

Campaign Oracle is operated by Chloe Norcross, a sole trader trading as Mosslight Created ("Campaign Oracle", "we", "us", "our").

By creating an account, accessing the Platform, subscribing to any paid plan, uploading content, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform.

2. IMPORTANT ALPHA RELEASE NOTICE

Campaign Oracle is currently provided as an Alpha release product.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • The Platform is a pre-release service.
  • Features may be incomplete, unavailable, modified or removed without notice.
  • Performance issues, interruptions, errors and unexpected behaviour may occur.
  • Data loss may occur. Keep your own copies of important campaign material; no specific backup or recovery capability is promised by this draft.
  • Functionality may change substantially between Alpha, Beta and full release versions.
  • We make no guarantee that any feature currently available will remain available in future versions.
  • User feedback may be incorporated into future development of the Platform.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you accept all risks associated with using an Alpha service.

3. DEFINITIONS

For the purposes of these Terms:

Account means any registered user account on the Platform.

AI Services means proposed generative functionality that is unavailable during Alpha and is not included in the Alpha offer.

Campaign Content means all content created, uploaded, imported or stored within a user's campaign.

Content means information, text, images, permitted files, maps, notes and campaign materials created, uploaded, imported or stored through the Platform.

DM means the owner, creator or administrator of a campaign.

Player means a user invited into a campaign by a DM.

Subscription means any paid access plan offered by Campaign Oracle.

User means any person accessing or using the Platform.

4. ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least eighteen (18) years old to create an Account or use the Platform.

By creating an Account you confirm that:

  • You are at least eighteen years old.
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts.
  • All information you provide is accurate and complete.
  • You will keep your account information updated.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any Account where we reasonably believe the user does not meet these eligibility requirements.

5. ACCOUNT REGISTRATION

Create an account using the available authentication flow and keep your credentials confidential. Notify support promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.

Players register free through an invitation, submit a join request and need DM approval before accessing campaign content. Removing a player revokes campaign access; rejoining requires approval again. Do not share DM credentials or attempt to approve your own membership.

The DM selects which campaign records to reveal. Players can access revealed campaign material while their membership is approved and has not been removed. DM-only notes and secrets are restricted; each player's own private notes and character sheet are not shared with the DM or other players. Public or external image URLs are not made private by these record access controls.

A private player record is not automatically shared with other players or the DM, but necessary hosting, support, security or legal processing by the operator and providers remains governed by the Privacy Policy.

6. SUBSCRIPTIONS

The intended Alpha plan is £30 per year in GBP for one Dungeon Master subscription, with invited players participating free of charge. The Alpha includes manual campaign management and SRD monster search; it does not include generative AI or AI credits.

Paid subscriptions will only be offered once payment setup and testing are complete. The checkout must show the total payable price, annual billing, renewal terms and cancellation arrangements before purchase.

When enabled, annual subscriptions renew unless cancelled. Scheduled cancellation ends renewal and ordinarily retains paid access until the end of the paid period. A refund or immediate termination may end paid access earlier, subject to applicable law. After paid access ends, the DM retains viewing of existing campaign material but cannot create or edit campaign content. Approved players retain access to previously revealed material while their membership remains approved and has not been removed. Player registration through an invitation does not require a paid checkout.

Any price change must be communicated before it applies to a future renewal. Existing express promotional commitments remain subject to their stated terms.

7. FOUNDER AND EARLY ADOPTER PRICING

Where Campaign Oracle offers Alpha, Founder, Early Adopter or similar pricing programmes:

  • Such pricing applies only to the specific subscription purchased.
  • Pricing benefits are personal to the original purchaser.
  • Benefits may not be transferred, sold or assigned.
  • Abuse of promotional pricing may result in termination of the associated benefits.

Campaign Oracle reserves the right to discontinue promotional programmes for future customers while continuing to honour valid existing commitments.

8. REFUNDS

The proposed Alpha offer retains a fourteen-calendar-day refund request period for initial subscription purchases. Contact campaignoracle@gmail.com with the account email and payment reference; do not send full card details.

Refunds may end paid access immediately, subject to applicable law. They do not automatically delete campaign data. There are no Alpha AI credits to revoke.

Renewal refunds and requests outside the voluntary period remain subject to statutory rights and any express purchase terms. Nothing in these Terms removes non-excludable cancellation, refund or service-quality rights. See the Subscription & Refund Policy.

9. AI SERVICES

Generative AI functionality is not offered in the Alpha. Text, NPC, quest, recap, campaign and image generation are disabled and are not included in the subscription.

SRD monster search retrieves existing reference data and is not generative AI. Manual content creation and image uploads remain available.

Any future AI release will require separate feature, pricing and privacy information before users are asked to use it. Retaining technical architecture does not promise future availability.

10. AI IMAGE GENERATION

AI image generation is unavailable in the Alpha. Users may upload images they are entitled to use. Uploading an image does not establish ownership, exclusivity or copyright protection.

New protected uploads use private storage and temporary access links issued after access checks. Removal from a campaign prevents new links being issued for its restricted material; a link issued before removal may remain usable until it expires. External public image links and older public uploads are not made private by campaign access settings. Do not use public links for confidential material.

Campaign Oracle may remove such content immediately and without notice.

Where appropriate, Campaign Oracle may report content to law enforcement authorities or regulatory bodies.

18. AI MISUSE

Users must not attempt to reactivate disabled generation, call underlying integrations to bypass Alpha restrictions, or evade access or usage controls. SRD search and authorised manual uploads remain permitted.

The same content and acceptable-use rules apply to material created elsewhere and uploaded to Campaign Oracle.

19. MODERATION RIGHTS

Campaign Oracle reserves the right, but not the obligation, to:

  • Review content.
  • Investigate reports.
  • Restrict access to content.
  • Remove content.
  • Suspend accounts.
  • Limit functionality.
  • Terminate accounts.

These actions may be taken where we reasonably believe such action is necessary to:

Reports may be submitted through designated reporting channels published on the Platform.

Campaign Oracle reserves sole discretion in determining appropriate enforcement action.

Termination may occur with or without notice.

Campaign Oracle shall not be liable for losses resulting from termination undertaken in accordance with these Terms.

23. USER REQUESTED ACCOUNT DELETION

Users may request account deletion by contacting campaignoracle@gmail.com. Cancelling a subscription, removing a player from a campaign and deleting an account are separate actions.

We will explain the effect on campaign access and process personal-data requests under applicable law. Information may be retained where necessary for legal obligations, disputes or a documented backup cycle; retention is not a promise of recovery.

The retention and deletion schedule, including any recovery period, must be confirmed before these draft Terms are published. No automatic ninety-day recovery or continuing-player-access guarantee is made.

24. PLAYER ACCESS FOLLOWING DM DELETION

Players should not assume continued campaign access after a DM account is deleted or suspended. Access and data availability depend on the deletion process and applicable legal obligations.

Players' own notes and character sheets are separate from revealed DM content, but continued access or export after DM deletion has not yet been verified. Contact support before deleting an account if you need help recovering content.

25. CHARGEBACKS

Users must contact Campaign Oracle before initiating a chargeback wherever reasonably possible.

Where a chargeback is initiated:

  • Access may be suspended immediately.
  • Subscription benefits may be restricted, subject to applicable law.
  • Subscriptions may be cancelled.
  • Accounts may be terminated.

Campaign Oracle reserves the right to dispute any chargeback it believes to be invalid.

Users remain liable for legitimate fees incurred prior to any chargeback.
